This patchset introduces IIO software triggers, offers a way of configuring them via configfs and adds the IIO hrtimer based interrupt source to be used with software triggers. The architecture is now split in 3 parts, to remove all IIO trigger specific parts from IIO configfs core: (1) IIO configfs - creates the root of the IIO configfs subsys. (2) IIO software triggers - software trigger implementation, dynamically creating /config/iio/triggers group. (3) IIO hrtimer trigger - is the first interrupt source for software triggers (with syfs to follow). Each trigger type can implement its own set of attributes. Lockdep seems to be happy with the locking in configfs patch. This patch (of 5): We don't want to hardcode default groups at subsystem creation time. We export: * configfs_register_group * configfs_unregister_group to allow drivers to programatically create/destroy groups later, after module init time. This is needed for IIO configfs support. In addition to the methods this also adds 3 helper macros to define read/write, read-only and write-only attributes with a single line of code. include, lib: add __printf attributes to several function prototypes

Using __printf attributes helps to detect several format string issues at compile time (even though -Wformat-security is currently disabled in Makefile). For example it can detect when formatting a pointer as a number, like the issue fixed in commit a3fa71c40f18 ("wl18xx: show rx_frames_per_rates as an array as it really is"), or when the arguments do not match the format string, c.f. for example commit 5ce1aca81435 ("reiserfs: fix __RASSERT format string"). To prevent similar bugs in the future, add a __printf attribute to every function prototype which needs one in include/linux/ and lib/. These functions were mostly found by using gcc's -Wsuggest-attribute=format flag. Sysfs has the _ATTR() and _ATTR_RO() macros to make defining extended form attributes easier. configfs should have something similiar. - _CONFIGFS_ATTR() and _CONFIGFS_ATTR_RO() are the counterparts to the sysfs macros. - CONFIGFS_ATTR_STRUCT() creates the extended form attribute structure. - CONFIGFS_ATTR_OPS() defines the show_attribute()/store_attribute() operations that call the show()/store() operations of the extended form configfs_attributes.
