commit f1c74a6c07e76fcb31a4bcc1f437c4361a2674ce upstream.

Trying to get the AB8500 charging driver working I ran into a bit
of bitrot: we haven't used the driver for a while so errors in
refactorings won't be noticed.

This one is pretty self evident: use argument to the macro or we
end up with a random pointer to something else.

The AB8540 was an evolved version of the AB8500, but it was never
mass produced or put into products, only reference designs exist.
The upstream support was never completed and it is unlikely that
this will happen so drop the support for now to simplify
maintenance of the AB8500.

<title>mfd: ab8500-debugfs: Prevent initialised field from being over-written</title>

Due to the lack of parity in the way array fields have been named/
numbered, a mistake was made where more debug fields were declared
than actually existed. In doing so, 2 fields were added, which
although unclear, were already declared in the array. The result
was that the latter declarations trashed the former ones.

This patch places the array back in the correct order and removes
the offending NULL entries.

While we're at it, let's ensure this doesn't happen again by naming
each field properly and add a new *_LAST define to describe how
many fields there should be.

Except for the constant DB8500_PRCMU_FW_VERSION_OFFSET number, nothing
is ever passed through the platform data and used in a driver, so we
can simply stop passing it around.

<title>power_supply: Change ownership from driver to core</title>

Change the ownership of power_supply structure from each driver
implementing the class to the power supply core.

The patch changes power_supply_register() function thus all drivers
implementing power supply class are adjusted.

Each driver provides the implementation of power supply. However it
should not be the owner of power supply class instance because it is
exposed by core to other subsystems with power_supply_get_by_name().
These other subsystems have no knowledge when the driver will unregister
the power supply. This leads to several issues when driver is unbound -
mostly because user of power supply accesses freed memory.

Instead let the core own the instance of struct 'power_supply'. Other
users of this power supply will still access valid memory because it
will be freed when device reference count reaches 0. Currently this
means "it will leak" but power_supply_put() call in next patches will
solve it.

This solves invalid memory references in following race condition
scenario:

Thread 1: charger manager
Thread 2: power supply driver, used by charger manager

THREAD 1 (charger manager) THREAD 2 (power supply driver)
==========================         ==============================
psy = power_supply_get_by_name()
                                   Driver unbind, .remove
                                     power_supply_unregister()
                                     Device fully removed
psy-&gt;get_property()

The 'get_property' call is executed in invalid context because the driver was
unbound and struct 'power_supply' memory was freed.

This could be observed easily with charger manager driver (here compiled
with max17040 fuel gauge):

$ cat /sys/devices/virtual/power_supply/cm-battery/capacity &amp;
$ echo "1-0036" &gt; /sys/bus/i2c/drivers/max17040/unbind

The DBx500 and ABx500 should be getting their IRQs from the
device tree and nowhere else. Get rid of all the static assignments
everywhere, delete it from the driver, platform data and the
board files in one swift strike.

Lots of cross-dependencies in the MFD drivers for PRCMU and
AB8500 makes it necessary to strike everywhere at once to
eradicate IRQs passed as resources and platform data to the left
and right around the platform.
