2006-03-25[PATCH] hp300: fix driver_register() return handling, remove dio_module_init()Bjorn Helgaas
Remove the assumption that driver_register() returns the number of devices bound to the driver. In fact, it returns zero for success or a negative error value. dio_module_init() used the device count to automatically unregister and unload drivers that found no devices. That might have worked at one time, but has been broken for some time because dio_register_driver() returned either a negative error or a positive count (never zero). So it could only unregister on failure, when it's not needed anyway. This functionality could be resurrected in individual drivers by counting devices in their .probe() methods. 2004-10-31[PATCH] m68k: HP300 SCSI chip is 98265AGeert Uytterhoeven
HP300: Fix typos in the DIO output. The SCSI chip is a 98265A, not a 98625A. NetBSD has this already fixed. Signed-off-by: Jochen Friedrich <jochen@scram.de> Signed-off-by: Geert Uytterhoeven <geert@linux-m68k.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>
2004-10-30[PATCH] m68k: HP300 DIOGeert Uytterhoeven
HP300 DIO bus updates from Kars de Jong: - Removed kludges for internal HPIB, no need to handle it as a DIO device - Removed dio_scodetoviraddr() and introduced dio_scodetophysaddr() instead, to be able to support DIO-II - Removed trailing white space - Changed error return code of dio_find() from 0 to -1, since select code 0 is a valid select code - Added support for DIO-II - Fixed problem with DIO_ENCODE_ID() Signed-off-by: Kars de Jong <jongk@linux-m68k.org> Signed-off-by: Geert Uytterhoeven <geert@linux-m68k.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>
