2005-10-01[PATCH] trivial #if -> #ifdefDiego Calleja
Use '#ifdef' consistently on __KERNEL__. This was reported as bug #5340 (isn't easier to send a fix than report the bug?!) Signed-off-by: Diego Calleja <diegocg@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>
2005-09-26[PATCH] pcmcia: fix cross-platform issues with pcmcia module aliasesKars de Jong
- Added a missing TO_NATIVE call to scripts/mod/file2alias.c:do_pcmcia_entry() - Add an alignment attribute to struct pcmcia_device_no to solve an alignment issue seen when cross-compiling on x86 for m68k. Signed-off-by: Kars de Jong <jongk@linux-m68k.org> Signed-off-by: Dominik Brodowski <linux@dominikbrodowski.net>
2005-08-30[PATCH] Make MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE work for vio devicesStephen Rothwell
Make MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE work for vio devices. Signed-off-by: Stephen Rothwell <sfr@canb.auug.org.au> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
2005-08-29[PATCH] mod_devicetable.h fixesAl Viro
* ieee1394_device_id has kernel_ulong_t field after an odd number of __u32 ones. Since mod_devicetable.h is included both from kernel and from host build helper, we may be in trouble if we are building on 32bit host for 64bit target - userland sees unsigned long long, kernel sees unsigned long and while their sizes match, alignments might not. Fixed by forcing alignment. Fortunately, almost nobody else needs that - the rest of such fields is naturally aligned as it is. * of_device_id has void * in it. Host userland helpers need kernel_ulong_t instead, since their void * might have nothing to do with the kernel one. Fixed in the same way it's done for similar problems in pcmcia_device_id (ifdef __KERNEL__). * pcmcia_device_id has the same problem as ieee1394_device_id. Fixed the same way. 2005-07-06[PATCH] openfirmware: generate device table for userspaceJeff Mahoney
This converts the usage of struct of_match to struct of_device_id, similar to pci_device_id. This allows a device table to be generated, which can be parsed by depmod(8) to generate a map file for module loading. In order for hotplug to work with macio devices, patches to module-init-tools and hotplug must be applied. Those patches are available at: ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/people/jeffm/linux/macio-hotplug/ Signed-off-by: Jeff Mahoney <jeffm@suse.com> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>
2005-06-27[PATCH] pcmcia: mod_devicetable.h fix for different sizes in kernel- and ↵Dominik Brodowski
userspace The size of pointers may differ between (userspace) modpost and (kernelspace) modules -- so fix mod_devicetable.h to reflect this possibility. Signed-off-by: Dominik Brodowski <linux@dominikbrodowski.net> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>
2005-06-27[PATCH] pcmcia: match "anonymous" cardsDominik Brodowski
If a card doesn't provide _any_ information about itself, assume it is a so-called "anonymous" card. pcmciamtd will bind to it if it is configured to do so. Signed-off-by: Dominik Brodowski <linux@dominikbrodowski.net> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>
2005-06-27[PATCH] pcmcia: match for fake CISDominik Brodowski
Add another match flag for devices needing a CIS override. The driver will only probe/attach if the CIS has been replaced before. Signed-off-by: Dominik Brodowski <linux@dominikbrodowski.net> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>
2005-06-27[PATCH] pcmcia: device and driver matchingDominik Brodowski
The actual matching of pcmcia drivers and pcmcia devices. The original version of this was written by David Woodhouse. Signed-off-by: Dominik Brodowski <linux@dominikbrodowski.net> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>
2005-02-24input: adjust file2alias utility to export aliases forDmitry Torokhov
serio drivers (serio:tyNprNidNexN). Move serio_device_id from serio.h to mod_devicetable.h Signed-off-by: Dmitry Torokhov <dtor@mail.ru> Signed-off-by: Vojtech Pavlik <vojtech@suse.cz>
2004-02-08[PNP] Move ID declarationsAdam Belay
This patch moves the PnP ID declarations to mod_devicetable.h like most of the other buses. It is from Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de>.
2003-05-25[PATCH] s390: module alias support.Martin Schwidefsky
Add module alias support for ccw devices.
2003-05-03[PATCH] add ieee1394 module dev tableBen Collins
This adds ieee1394 for module table registration.
2003-02-14kbuild: Figure endianness / word size at compile timeKai Germaschewski
The helper file2alias had to jump through a lot of hoops because it did not know the host and target endianness / word size at compile time. We now build a small header scripts/elfconfig.h which contains this information for file2alias to use.
2003-02-14kbuild: Module alias and device table supportRusty Russell
Introduces "MODULE_ALIAS" which modules can use to embed their own aliases for modprobe to use. Also adds a "finishing" step to modules to supplement their aliases based on MODULE_TABLE declarations, eg. 'usb:v0506p4601dl*dh*dc*dsc*dp*ic*isc*ip*' for drivers/usb/net/pegasus.o
