The current code is sort of hackish in that it assumes a referral is always
matched to an export. When we add support for junctions that may not be the
case.
We can replace nfsd4_path() with a function that encodes the components
directly from the dentries. Since nfsd4_path is currently the only user of
the 'ex_pathname' field in struct svc_export, this has the added benefit
of allowing us to get rid of that.

As promised in feature-removal-schedule.txt it is time to
remove the nfsctl system call.
Userspace has perferred to not use this call throughout 2.6 and it has been
excluded in the default configuration since 2.6.36 (9 months ago).
So this patch removes all the code that was being compiled out.
There are still references to sys_nfsctl in various arch systemcall tables
and related code. These should be cleaned out too, probably in the next
merge window.

We've long had these pointless #ifdef MSNFS's sprinkled throughout the
code--pointless because MSNFS is always defined (and we give no config
option to make that easy to change). So we could just remove the
ifdef's and compile the resulting code unconditionally.
But as long as we're there: why not just rip out this code entirely?
The only purpose is to implement the "msnfs" export option which turns
on Windows-like behavior in some cases, and:
- the export option isn't documented anywhere;
- the userland utilities (which would need to be able to parse
"msnfs" in an export file) don't support it;
- I don't know how to maintain this, as I don't know what the
proper behavior is; and
- google shows no evidence that anyone has ever used this.

NFSv4 differs from v2 and v3 in that it presents a single unified
filesystem tree, whereas v2 and v3 exported multiple filesystem (whose
roots could be found using a separate mount protocol).
Our original NFSv4 server implementation asked the administrator to
designate a single filesystem as the NFSv4 root, then to mount
filesystems they wished to export underneath. (Often using bind mounts
of already-existing filesystems.)
This was conceptually simple, and allowed easy implementation, but
created a serious obstacle to upgrading between v2/v3: since the paths
to v4 filesystems were different, administrators would have to adjust
all the paths in client-side mount commands when switching to v4.
Various workarounds are possible. For example, the administrator could
export "/" and designate it as the v4 root. However, the security risks
of that approach are obvious, and in any case we shouldn't be requiring
the administrator to take extra steps to fix this problem; instead, the
server should present consistent paths across different versions by
default.
These patches take a modified version of that approach: we provide a new
export option which exports only a subset of a filesystem. With this
flag, it becomes safe for mountd to export "/" by default, with no need
for additional configuration.
We begin just by defining the new flag.

This was an oversight; it should be among the export flags that can be
allowed to vary by pseudoflavor. This allows an administrator to (for
example) allow auth_sys mounts only from low ports, but allow auth_krb5
mounts to use any port.

Soon we will add the new V4ROOT flag, and allow the INSECURE flag to
vary by pseudoflavor. It would be useful for nfs-utils (for example,
for improved exportfs error reporting) to be able to know when this
happens. Use this new interface for that purpose.

Newer server features such as nfsv4 and gss depend on proc to work, so a
failure to initialize the proc files they need should be treated as
fatal.
Thanks to Andrew Morton for style fix and compile fix in case where
CONFIG_NFSD_V4 is undefined.

Allow readonly access to vary depending on the pseudoflavor, using the flag
passed with each pseudoflavor in the export downcall. The rest of the flags
are ignored for now, though some day we might also allow id squashing to vary
based on the flavor.

Split the callers of exp_get_by_name(), exp_find(), and exp_parent() into
those that are processing requests and those that are doing other stuff (like
looking up filehandles for mountd).
No change in behavior, just a (fairly pointless, on its own) cleanup.
(Note this has the effect of making nfsd_cross_mnt() pass rqstp->rq_client
instead of exp->ex_client into exp_find_by_name(). However, the two should
have the same value at this point.)

We're passing three arguments to exp_pseudoroot, two of which are just fields
of the svc_rqst. Soon we'll want to pass in a third field as well. So let's
just give up and pass in the whole struct svc_rqst.

We add a list of pseudoflavors to each export downcall, which will be used
both as a list of security flavors allowed on that export, and (in the order
given) as the list of pseudoflavors to return on secinfo calls.
This patch parses the new downcall information and adds it to the export
structure, but doesn't use it for anything yet.

Add support for using a filesystem UUID to identify and export point in the
filehandle.
For NFSv2, this UUID is xor-ed down to 4 or 8 bytes so that it doesn't take up
too much room. For NFSv3+, we use the full 16 bytes, and possibly also a
64bit inode number for exports beneath the root of a filesystem.
When generating an fsid to return in 'stat' information, use the UUID (hashed
down to size) if it is available and a small 'fsid' was not specifically
provided.

Current svc_expkey holds a pointer to the svc_export structure, so updates to
that structure have to be in-place, which is a wart on the whole cache
infrastruct. So we break that linkage and just do a second lookup.
If this became a performance issue, it would be possible to put a direct link
back in which was only used conditionally. i.e. when an object is replaced
in the cache, we set a flag in the old object. When dereferencing the link
from svc_expkey, if the flag is set, we drop the reference and do a fresh
lookup.

nfsd_cross_mnt can release the reference to the passed svc_export structure
when it returns a different svc_export structure. So we need to make sure we
have a counted reference before, and drop the reference afterwards.

NFS made dev_t-agnostic. Aside of minor fixes in debugging printks,
and adding old_encode_dev()/old_decode_dev(), the main part is in handling
of exports with large dev_t. New fhandle format introduced, fh_verify(),
fh_compose() and exports cache taught to deal with it. Format is used when
->s_dev of exported fs doesn't fit into 256:256; in that case we put major
and minor in separate words in fhandle; ->fh_fsid_type is set to 2.

The 'acl' folks would like an export flag, so this patch
reserves one and also discards some that aren't used and never
will be (for the named purpose).

NFSEXP_CROSSMNT used to mean something different, so
using a different name reduces the chance of confusion.
Also there is currently a surplus of vowels, so there is

Most cache-lookups to find export information will cause
an upcall, but currently the lookup to find the pseudo root
for nfsv4 wont asthe cache-handle isn't made available.
This patch makes it available and makes sure that if the
upcall is made, the request is dropped (for now).

CROSSMNT makes sense.
If CROSSMNT is set for an export, and we too a
LOOKUP which crosses a mountpoint, we initiate an
upcall to find out if and how that filesystem
is exported.

last nfsd thread dies was shuting down too much -
things that should only be shut down on module unload.

cache.c gets code to allow a 'request' to be referred pending
an update of a cache item, and revisited when the item is
updates.
svcsock.c gets code to store the relevant part of a request on deferral, and
to re-queue it when the cache item that caused the deferral is
filled in.

This introduces two caches, svc_export_cache (nfsd.exports) and
svc_expkey_cache (nfsd.fh).
nfsd.exports maps client+directory -> export options.
nfsd.fh maps client + filehandle-fragment -> directory.
A major part of this change is that export entries are now reference counted,
so we have to be careful to keep those counts correct.

This patch introduces two caches using the new infrastucture, and the
concept of a 'domain'.
A 'domain' refers to a collection of clients that all have the same
view of the nfs server, and all have the same access rights (modulo
different users on the clients). For AUTH_UNIX (and AUTH_NULL), the
domain is determined from the IP address. For other authentication
styles, the domain might be determined directly from the credentials.
Each auth flavour knows how to allocate and free it's domain-specific
infomation.
auth_domain_cache maps a name to a domain which is owned by
an auth flavour.
ip_map_cache is a cache specific to AUTH_UNIX which maps
IP address to domain.
With this patch, svcauth_unix.c is created to store all
auth_unix related code.
The IP address lookup code is removed from nfsd/exports.c
sunrpc module initilisation is moved out of stats.c into sunrpc_syms
which seemed to be the most central .c file. It now registers these
two caches.
Now that the caches are being used, nfsd needs to call cache_clean
periodically.

NFSv4 has a concept of a 'root' filehandle (from which all other can
be found via LOOKUP, so no need for mountd).
This patch defines exp_pseudoroot(), which is used to set the filehandle
for the root of the pseudofs. The root is defined to be the export
point with fsid == 0.
|

This is used:
to iterate all exports when making /proc/fs/nfs/exports
to find all exports of a client to unexport them.
The first can just as easily be done by iterating the export_table
hash table.
The second is very rarely called and can be done by iterating the
hash table looking for exports for the given client.

Instead of a separate hash table per client we now
have one hash table which includes the client in the key.
|

Filehandle lookup currently breaks out the interesting pieces of
a filehandle and passes them to exp_get or exp_get_fsid, which put the
pieces back into a filehandle fragment.
We define a new interface "exp_find" which does a lookup based on
a filehandle fragment to avoid this double handling.
In the process, common code in exp_get_key and exp_get_fsid_key is united
into exp_find_key.
Also, filehandle composition now uses the mk_fsid_v? inline functions.
