corrects that and preserves the old behaviour as well, as suggested by Rusty.

The ver_linux script is still using rmmod to determine
module-init-tools version. The following patch uses depmod,
which produces the appropriate result.

the url for module-init-tools has been fixed, and all the references to
modutils (outside source) has been updated if necessary.
more patches to follow to fix up the modules.conf/conf.modules vs.
modprobe.conf references.
