2022-10-25Fix lstat() for broken junction points on Windows.Thomas Munro
When using junction points to emulate symlinks on Windows, one edge case was not handled correctly by commit c5cb8f3b: if a junction point is broken (pointing to a non-existent path), we'd report ENOENT. This doesn't break any known use case, but was noticed while developing a test suite for these functions and is fixed here for completeness. Also add translation ERROR_CANT_RESOLVE_FILENAME -> ENOENT, as that is one of the errors Windows can report for some kinds of broken paths. 2022-09-29Map ERROR_INVALID_NAME to ENOENT in mapping table of win32error.cMichael Paquier
This error can be reached when sending an incorrect file name to open() on Windows, resulting in a confusing errno reported. This has been seen in the development of a different patch by the same author. 2019-10-19Fix most -Wundef warningsPeter Eisentraut
In some cases #if was used instead of #ifdef in an inconsistent style. Cleaning this up also helps when analyzing cases like 38d8dce61fff09daae0edb6bcdd42b0c7f10ebcd where this makes a difference. There are no behavior changes here, but the change in pg_bswap.h would prevent possible accidental misuse by third-party code. 2017-06-21Initial pgindent run with pg_bsd_indent version 2.0.Tom Lane
The new indent version includes numerous fixes thanks to Piotr Stefaniak. The main changes visible in this commit are: * Nicer formatting of function-pointer declarations. * No longer unexpectedly removes spaces in expressions using casts, sizeof, or offsetof. * No longer wants to add a space in "struct structname *varname", as well as some similar cases for const- or volatile-qualified pointers. * Declarations using PG_USED_FOR_ASSERTS_ONLY are formatted more nicely. * Fixes bug where comments following declarations were sometimes placed with no space separating them from the code. * Fixes some odd decisions for comments following case labels. * Fixes some cases where comments following code were indented to less than the expected column 33. On the less good side, it now tends to put more whitespace around typedef names that are not listed in typedefs.list. This might encourage us to put more effort into typedef name collection; it's not really a bug in indent itself. There are more changes coming after this round, having to do with comment indentation and alignment of lines appearing within parentheses. I wanted to limit the size of the diffs to something that could be reviewed without one's eyes completely glazing over, so it seemed better to split up the changes as much as practical. 2017-01-04Attempt to handle pending-delete files on WindowsMagnus Hagander
These files are deleted but not yet gone from the filesystem. Operations on them will return ERROR_DELETE_PENDING. With this we start treating that as ENOENT, meaning files does not exist (which is the state it will soon reach). This should be safe in every case except when we try to recreate a file with exactly the same name. This is an operation that PostgreSQL does very seldom, so hopefully that won't happen much -- and even if it does, this treatment should be no worse than treating it as an unhandled error. We've been un able to reproduce the bug reliably, so pushing this to master to get buildfarm coverage and other testing. Once it's proven to be stable, it should be considered for backpatching. 2013-11-23Ensure _dosmaperr() actually sets errno correctly.Tom Lane
If logging is enabled, either ereport() or fprintf() might stomp on errno internally, causing this function to return the wrong result. That might only end in a misleading error report, but in any code that's examining errno to decide what to do next, the consequences could be far graver. This has been broken since the very first version of this file in 2006 ... it's a bit astonishing that we didn't identify this long ago. Reported by Amit Kapila, though this isn't his proposed fix.
