From a4ac2f458e8cb76177254f4bd7bbd885991379af Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: "Thomas G. Lockhart" Date: Tue, 6 Jul 1999 17:16:42 +0000 Subject: Fix markup for docbook2man man page generation. No big deal; fixed lots of other markup at the same time. Bigest change: make sure there is no whitespace in front of contents. This will probably help the other output types too. --- doc/src/sgml/ref/psql-ref.sgml | 268 +++++++++++------------------------------ 1 file changed, 72 insertions(+), 196 deletions(-) (limited to 'doc/src/sgml/ref/psql-ref.sgml') diff --git a/doc/src/sgml/ref/psql-ref.sgml b/doc/src/sgml/ref/psql-ref.sgml index cb58dd08947..22c3f96fb06 100644 --- a/doc/src/sgml/ref/psql-ref.sgml +++ b/doc/src/sgml/ref/psql-ref.sgml @@ -20,11 +20,9 @@ psql [ dbname ] psql -A [ -c query ] [ -d dbname ] - -e -E [ -f filename ] - [ -F separator ] [ -h hostname ] - -Hln [ -o filename ] [ -p -port ] - -qsSt [ -T table_o ] -ux + -e -E [ -f filename ] [ -F separator ] + [ -h hostname ] -Hln [ -o filename ] + [ -p port ] -qsSt [ -T table_o ] -ux [ dbname ] @@ -43,9 +41,7 @@ psql -A [ -c query ] [ -d - - dbname - + dbname The name of an existing database to access. @@ -59,22 +55,21 @@ psql -A [ -c query ] [ -d - - -c query - + -c query A single query to run. psql will exit on completion. - + The full set of command-line arguments and meta-commands are described in a subsequent section. + There are some environment variables which can be used in liu of command line arguments. @@ -91,9 +86,7 @@ psql -A [ -c query ] [ -d - - PGHOST - + PGHOST The DNS host name of the database server. @@ -105,9 +98,7 @@ psql -A [ -c query ] [ -d - - PGPORT - + PGPORT The port number on which a Postgres server is listening. @@ -117,9 +108,7 @@ psql -A [ -c query ] [ -d - - PGTTY - + PGTTY The target for display of messages from the client support library. @@ -129,9 +118,7 @@ psql -A [ -c query ] [ -d - - PGOPTION - + PGOPTION If PGOPTION @@ -143,9 +130,7 @@ psql -A [ -c query ] [ -d - - PGREALM - + PGREALM PGREALM @@ -176,11 +161,13 @@ psql -A [ -c query ] [ -d psql returns 0 to the shell on successful completion of all queries, 1 for errors, 2 for abrupt disconnection from the backend. - The default TAB delimiter is used. psql will also return 1 if the connection to a database could not be made for any reason. + + The default TAB delimiter is used. + @@ -337,9 +324,7 @@ testdb=> - - -A - + -A Turn off fill justification when printing out table elements. @@ -348,9 +333,7 @@ testdb=> - - -c query - + -c query Specifies that @@ -364,9 +347,7 @@ testdb=> - - -d dbname - + -d dbname Specifies the name of the database to connect to.
