From 73677dd92f35b4c24b6c00b049aa9b0a66fdb702 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Bruce Momjian Date: Wed, 18 Oct 2000 16:16:18 +0000 Subject: The following patch was sent to the patches list: This patch forces the use of 'DROP VIEW' to destroy views. It also changes the syntax of DROP VIEW to DROP VIEW v1, v2, ... to match the syntax of DROP TABLE. Some error messages were changed so this patch also includes changes to the appropriate expected/*.out files. Doc changes for 'DROP TABLE" and 'DROP VIEW' are included. -- Mark Hollomon --- doc/src/sgml/ref/drop_table.sgml | 12 ++++++------ doc/src/sgml/ref/drop_view.sgml | 6 +++--- 2 files changed, 9 insertions(+), 9 deletions(-) (limited to 'doc/src/sgml/ref') diff --git a/doc/src/sgml/ref/drop_table.sgml b/doc/src/sgml/ref/drop_table.sgml index 7e0b85d6af5..5f5a7aa821b 100644 --- a/doc/src/sgml/ref/drop_table.sgml +++ b/doc/src/sgml/ref/drop_table.sgml @@ -1,5 +1,5 @@ @@ -39,7 +39,7 @@ DROP TABLE name [, ...] name - The name of an existing table or view to drop. + The name of an existing table to drop. @@ -68,11 +68,11 @@ DROP -ERROR Relation "name" Does Not Exist! +ERROR: table "name" is nonexistent - If the specified table or view does not exist in the database. + If the specified table does not exist in the database. @@ -89,8 +89,8 @@ ERROR Relation "name" Does Not Exis Description - DROP TABLE removes tables and views from the database. - Only its owner may destroy a table or view.
