2005-10-19powerpc: Merge machdep.hPaul Mackerras
A few things change for consistency between ppc32 and ppc64: idle functions return void; *_get_boot_time functions return unsigned long (i.e. time_t) rather than filling in a struct rtc_time (since that's useful to the callers and easier for pmac to generate); *_get_rtc_time and *_set_rtc_time functions take a struct rtc_time; irq_canonicalize is gone; nvram_sync returns void. 2005-10-10powerpc: Get 64-bit configs to compile with ARCH=powerpcPaul Mackerras
This is a bunch of mostly small fixes that are needed to get ARCH=powerpc to compile for 64-bit. This adds setup_64.c from arch/ppc64/kernel/setup.c and locks.c from arch/ppc64/lib/locks.c. Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
2005-09-27powerpc: clean up after powermac build mergeStephen Rothwell
Complete moving arch/ppc64/kernel/mpic.h, include/asm-ppc/reg.h, include/asm-ppc64/kdebug.h and include/asm-ppc64/kprobes.h Add arch/powerpc/platforms/Makefile and use it from arch/powerpc/Makefile Introduce OLDARCH temporarily so we can point back to the originating architecture Signed-off-by: Stephen Rothwell <sfr@canb.auug.org.au>

make udbg_init_uart set the ppc_md udbg methods. Signed-off-by: Milton Miller <miltonm@bga.com> Signed-off-by: Anton Blanchard <anton@samba.org> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
2005-07-07[PATCH] ppc64: Fixup platforms for new ppc_md.idleMichael Ellerman
This patch fixes up iSeries, pSeries, pmac and maple to set the correct idle function for each platform. 2005-06-23[PATCH] Maple powerdown patchDavid Gibson
Currently reset and powerdown are not implemented on the Maple board, and attempting to do so will (incorrectly return). This implements the proper communication with the service processor, allowing correct reset and powerdown on the Maple board, by communicating with the service processor. If somehow it's unable to communicate with the service processor it will loop forever instead. Note that powerdown on the Maple will power down the CPUs, but not the fans or other board components due to hardware and firmware limitations. 2005-06-23[PATCH] ppc64: consolidate calibrate_decr implementationsArnd Bergmann
pSeries and maple have almost the same code for calibrate_decr, and BPA would need yet another copy. Instead, I'm moving the code to arch/ppc64/kernel/time.c. Some of the related declarations were missing from header files, so I'm moving those as well. It makes sense to merge this with the pmac function of the same name, so we end up having just one implemetation for iSeries and one for Open Firmware based machines. 2005-04-16[PATCH] ppc64: Fix semantics of __ioremapBenjamin Herrenschmidt
This patch fixes ppc64 __ioremap() so that it stops adding implicitely _PAGE_GUARDED when the cache is not writeback, and instead, let the callers provide the flag they want here. This allows things like framebuffers to explicitely request a non-cacheable and non-guarded mapping which is more efficient for that type of memory without side effects. The patch also fixes all current callers to add _PAGE_GUARDED except btext, which is fine without it. 2005-01-07[PATCH] ppc64: IOMMU cleanups: Main cleanup patchOlof Johansson
Earlier cleanup efforts of the ppc64 IOMMU code have mostly been targeted at simplifying the allocation schemes and modularising things for the various platforms. The IOMMU init functions are still a mess. This is an attempt to clean them up and make them somewhat easier to follow. The new rules are: 1. iommu_init_early_<arch> is called before any PCI/VIO init is done 2. The pcibios fixup routines will call the iommu_{bus,dev}_setup functions appropriately as devices are added. TCE space allocation has changed somewhat: * On LPARs, nothing is really different. ibm,dma-window properties are still used to determine table sizes. * On pSeries SMP-mode (non-LPAR), the full TCE space per PHB is split up in 256MB chunks, each handed out to one child bus/slot as needed. This makes current max 7 child buses per PHB, something we're currently below on all machine models I'm aware of. * Exception to the above: Pre-POWER4 machines with Python PHBs have a full GB of DMA space allocated at the PHB level, since there are no EADS-level tables on such systems. * PowerMac and Maple still work like before: all buses/slots share one table. * VIO works like before, ibm,my-dma-window is used like before. * iSeries has not been touched much at all, besides the changed unit of the it_size variable in struct iommu_table. Other things changed: * Powermac and maple PCI/IOMMU inits have been changed a bit to conform to the new init structure * pci_dma_direct.c has been renamed pci_direct_iommu.c to match pci_iommu.c (see separate patch) * Likewise, a couple of the pci direct init functions have been renamed. 2005-01-04[PATCH] ppc64: remove serialPortAddr from the nacaStephen Rothwell
The serialPortAddr field of the naca was only being used locally, remove it. Signed-off-by: Stephen Rothwell <sfr@canb.auug.org.au> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>
2005-01-04[PATCH] ppc64: remove interrupt_controller from nacaStephen Rothwell

2004-10-28[PATCH] ppc64: Enable maple IDE fixupBenjamin Herrenschmidt
Now that pci_get_legacy_ide_irq() support has been merged, it's time to enable use of it by the Maple platform code. Signed-off-by: Benjamin Herrenschmidt <benh@kernel.crashing.org> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>
2004-10-25[PATCH] ppc64: Add new "Maple" platform supportBenjamin Herrenschmidt
This adds support for the Maple 970FX Eval Board. It adds the basic arch support. For the Maple to be fully functional, it needs a couple more patches to be applied for IDE and Ethernet that are currently pending with the respective maintainers of those subsystems.
