2024-05-03alpha: remove DECpc AXP150 (Jensen) supportArnd Bergmann
This is one of the hackiest Alpha machines, and the only one without PCI support. Removing this allows cleaning up code in eise and tty drivers in addition to the architecture code. Acked-by: Paul E. 2016-10-11Input: i8042 - skip selftest on ASUS laptopsMarcos Paulo de Souza
On suspend/resume cycle, selftest is executed to reset i8042 controller. But when this is done in Asus devices, subsequent calls to detect/init functions to elantech driver fails. Skipping selftest fixes this problem. An easier step to reproduce this problem is adding i8042.reset=1 as a kernel parameter. On Asus laptops, it'll make the system to start with the touchpad already stuck, since psmouse_probe forcibly calls the selftest function. This patch was inspired by John Hiesey's change[1], but, since this problem affects a lot of models of Asus, let's avoid running selftests on them. All models affected by this problem: A455LD K401LB K501LB K501LX R409L V502LX X302LA X450LCP X450LD X455LAB X455LDB X455LF Z450LA [1]: https://marc.info/?l=linux-input&m=144312209020616&w=2 Fixes: "ETPS/2 Elantech Touchpad dies after resume from suspend" (https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107971) Signed-off-by: Marcos Paulo de Souza <marcos.souza.org@gmail.com> Cc: stable@vger.kernel.org Signed-off-by: Dmitry Torokhov <dmitry.torokhov@gmail.com>
2012-10-17Input: i8042-io - fix up region handling on MIPSAaro Koskinen
i8042_platform_init() skips reguest_region() on MIPS, but in i8042_platform_exit() release_region() is still called. Fix this by reserving the region also on MIPS. The patch eliminates the following error message seen on MIPS: [ 2.112000] Trying to free nonexistent resource <0000000000000060-000000000000006f> Signed-off-by: Aaro Koskinen <aaro.koskinen@iki.fi> Signed-off-by: Dmitry Torokhov <dmitry.torokhov@gmail.com>
2010-07-09powerpc: Add i8042 keyboard and mouse irq parsingMartyn Welch
Currently the irqs for the i8042, which historically provides keyboard and mouse (aux) support, is hardwired in the driver rather than parsing the dts. This patch modifies the powerpc legacy IO code to attempt to parse the device tree for this information, failing back to the hardcoded values if it fails. 2006-10-01[PATCH] update legacy io handling for pmacOlaf Hering
ppc can boot one single binary on prep, chrp and pmac boards. ppc64 can boot one single binary on pseries and G5 boards. pmac has no legacy io, probing for PC style legacy hardware (or accessing the legacy io area regulary) may lead to a hard crash: * add check for parport_pc, exit on pmac. 32bit chrp has no ->check_legacy_ioport, the probe is always called. 64bit chrp has check_legacy_ioport, check for a "parallel" node * add check for isapnp, only PReP boards may have real ISA slots. 32bit PReP will have no ->check_legacy_ioport, the probe is always called. * update code in i8042_platform_init. Run ->check_legacy_ioport first, always call request_region. No functional change. Remove whitespace before i8042_reset init. 2006-04-28[PATCH] powerpc: Use check_legacy_ioport() on ppc32 too.David Woodhouse
Some people report that we die on some Macs when we are expecting to catch machine checks after poking at some random I/O address. I'd seen it happen on my dual G4 with serial ports until we fixed those to use OF, but now other users are reporting it with i8042. This expands the use of check_legacy_ioport() to avoid that situation even on 32-bit kernels. Signed-off-by: David Woodhouse <dwmw2@infradead.org> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>

2004-06-29[PATCH] sh64 supportPaul Mundt
This patch adds sh64 support. This is a bit overdue, as this was on the should-fix list, though we weren't done debugging and finishing off the port until just recently (I did a port against 2.5.68 but it wasn't in any shape to be merged). sh64 is already in 2.4 and has been for quite awhile, so this is mostly just a forward port of that code to 2.6 with appropriate bug fixes, etc. along the way. There isn't much in the way of new features that have been added to the port yet, though I have added rough hugetlb and oprofile support. This patch doesn't really touch any common code, with the exception of an ifdef or two for keyboard support and an ifdef in fb.h to omit sh64 from the __raw_xxx() wrapping that sh does. The only other common driver changes were to sh-sci for serial support, but those bits were already merged with the latest batch of sh-sci updates. Beyond that, the port is completely isolated.
