Since commit 84af7a6194e4 ("checkpatch: kconfig: prefer 'help' over
'---help---'"), the number of '---help---' has been gradually
decreasing, but there are still more than 2400 instances.
This commit finishes the conversion. While I touched the lines,
I also fixed the indentation.
There are a variety of indentation styles found.
a) 4 spaces + '---help---'
b) 7 spaces + '---help---'
c) 8 spaces + '---help---'
d) 1 space + 1 tab + '---help---'
e) 1 tab + '---help---' (correct indentation)
f) 1 tab + 1 space + '---help---'
g) 1 tab + 2 spaces + '---help---'
In order to convert all of them to 1 tab + 'help', I ran the
following commend:
$ find . -name 'Kconfig*' | xargs sed -i 's/^[[:space:]]*---help---/\thelp/'

There are a few remaining drivers/usb/ files that do not have SPDX
identifiers in them, all of these are either Kconfig or Makefiles. Add
the correct GPL-2.0 identifier to them to make scanning tools happy.

This patch removes the depends on USB from all config symbols in
drivers/usb/host/Kconfig and replace that with an if USB / endif block
as suggested by Alan Stern. Some source ... Kconfig lines have been
shuffled around to permit a better regroupment of the Kconfig files
depending on "config USB" item. No functionnal change is introduced.

Since support for the USB Mustek MDC800 Digital Camera has apparently
been around since the beginning of the git repository, it's safe to
assume it's no longer experimental.

Most of these fixes were already submitted for old kernel versions, and were
approved, but for some reason they never made it into the releases.
Because this is a consolidation of a couple old missed patches, it touches both
Kconfigs and documentation texts.

USB_HPUSBSCSI was marked as BROKEN in 2.6.11 since libsane is the
preferred way to access these devices.
Unless someone plans to resurrect this driver, I'm therefore proposing
this patch to completely remove it.

USB_SCANNER is obsolete, and it's now marked as BROKEN.
I there a good reason to keep it in the kernel?

Greg, I think this now makes 2 distinct bugs in the scanner kernel
driver. Maybe it should be protected with a BROKEN:

After a bit of mucking around (and possibly finding a bug with debian's
libusb/xsane/hotplug interaction, nothing seems to run
/etc/hotplug/usb/libusbscanner and thus only root can scan, anyone whose
got this working please let me know), the problem does not exist if I
only use libusb xsane.

Kconfig cleanup megapatch from Nicolas Kaiser <nikai@nikai.net>.
modules.txt no longer exists, and the common wording used to refer to
it sucks. This is all by Nicolas Kaiser's: at Randy and Matthew's
request, "say M" changed to "choose M" (more sense for graphical front
ends, too).
