2020-11-04pg_rewind: Refactor the abstraction to fetch from local/libpq source.Heikki Linnakangas
This makes the abstraction of a "source" server more clear, by introducing a common abstract class, borrowing the object-oriented programming term, that represents all the operations that can be done on the source server. There are two implementations of it, one for fetching via libpq, and another to fetch from a local directory. This adds some code, but makes it easier to understand what's going on. The copy_executeFileMap() and libpq_executeFileMap() functions contained basically the same logic, just calling different functions to fetch the source files. Refactor so that the common logic is in one place, in a new function called perform_rewind(). 2020-11-04pg_rewind: Replace the hybrid list+array data structure with simplehash.Heikki Linnakangas
Now that simplehash can be used in frontend code, let's make use of it. Reviewed-by: Kyotaro Horiguchi, Soumyadeep Chakraborty Discussion: https://www.postgresql.org/message-id/0c5b3783-af52-3ee5-f8fa-6e794061f70d%40iki.fi

2017-06-21Phase 2 of pgindent updates.Tom Lane
Change pg_bsd_indent to follow upstream rules for placement of comments to the right of code, and remove pgindent hack that caused comments following #endif to not obey the general rule. Commit e3860ffa4dd0dad0dd9eea4be9cc1412373a8c89 wasn't actually using the published version of pg_bsd_indent, but a hacked-up version that tried to minimize the amount of movement of comments to the right of code. The situation of interest is where such a comment has to be moved to the right of its default placement at column 33 because there's code there. BSD indent has always moved right in units of tab stops in such cases --- but in the previous incarnation, indent was working in 8-space tab stops, while now it knows we use 4-space tabs. So the net result is that in about half the cases, such comments are placed one tab stop left of before. This is better all around: it leaves more room on the line for comment text, and it means that in such cases the comment uniformly starts at the next 4-space tab stop after the code, rather than sometimes one and sometimes two tabs after. Also, ensure that comments following #endif are indented the same as comments following other preprocessor commands such as #else. That inconsistency turns out to have been self-inflicted damage from a poorly-thought-through post-indent "fixup" in pgindent. This patch is much less interesting than the first round of indent changes, but also bulkier, so I thought it best to separate the effects. 2017-03-08Fix inclusions of c.h from .h files.Tom Lane
We have a project policy that every .c file should start by including postgres.h, postgres_fe.h, or c.h as appropriate; and then there is no need for any .h file to explicitly include any of these. Fix a few headers that were violating this policy by including c.h. 2015-04-15Minor cleanup of pg_rewind.Heikki Linnakangas
Update comments and function names to use the terms "source" and "target" consistently. Some places were calling them remote and local instead, which was confusing. Fix incorrect comment in extractPageInfo on database creation record - it was wrong on what happens for databases created in the target that don't exist in source.
